Job Title: CNY SEP Program Associate

Salary: $20.64 – $22.64

 CLASSIFICATION: Exempt. Thirty-five-hour (35.00) week; evenings and weekends are expected for meetings, workshops, outreaches, events, and seminars.

 

Position Summary: The SEP Program Associate supports the implementation and management of the SEP program by coordinating activities, providing administrative support, and assisting in outreach efforts. This role involves collaborating with team members to facilitate program initiatives, track progress, and maintain compliance with program standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma/GED and/or at least 2 years of experience in delivering stigma-free, non-judgmental and culturally responsive services to diverse populations.
  2. Must have a valid, unrestricted NYS driver’s license and access to a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle is required for necessary travel.
  3. Excellent communication, documentation, supervision, and writing skills are essential.
  4. Knowledgeable in Hepatitis A, B, & C, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, testing I treatments; knowledge on substance use and mental health disorders, drug overdose prevention, and other stigmatized health conditions.
  5. A Harm Reduction ethos, equity focus, and strong understanding HIPPA requirements
  6. Demonstrated commitment to cultural humility; sensitivity to HIV, chronic illness, LGBTQI+, TGNCNB, and BIPOC communities; and a strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of ACR Health are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Incorporate best practices regarding confidentiality into all job duties and communications in accordance with Article 27-F, 42 CFR, HIPAA, and ACR Health policies and procedures and other applicable regulations. Protect agency data in accordance with confidentiality procedures and protocols.
  2. Abide by ACR Health’s Policies, Procedures, Mission, Vision, and Values; provided in employee handbook.
  3. Communicate clearly and directly with supervisors, coworkers, consumers and community partners.
  4. Provide the direct provision of HIV/STD/hepatitis prevention interventions to the target population(s) outlined in assigned program(s) work plan(s).
  5. Promotion of access to sterile injection equipment and safe sharps disposal
  6. Recruitment of peer educators and clients for various program(s) services.
  7. Maintain accurate client and service records in accordance with the Syringe Exchange Program’s policies and procedures.
  8. Complete accurate monthly, quarterly and/or annual report(s) within agency and departmental guidelines.
  9. Be present in Onondaga, Cayuga, and Oswego Counties networking with providers, providing outreach services in the community and facilitating educational lectures/presentations.
  10. Participate in the drug checking initiative through FTIR spectroscopy services.
  11. Identify and develop networking relationships with community organizations.
  12. Assist with the general work of the Harm Reduction & Prevention department, including special projects and general agency programs/initiatives.
  13. Participate in appropriate and applicable training/professional development opportunities for a minimum of 24 hours of curriculum-based training annually.
  14. Participate as a culturally competent member of the Harm Reduction & Prevention department and agency, which includes having the capacity to function effectively as an individual within the context of cultural beliefs, behaviors, and needs presented by consumers and their communities.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of all agency clients as well as other appropriate organizational components.
  16. Maintain all agency and program property/equipment in good standards. Cooperate with the IT department for routine security maintenance of equipment(s).
  17. Perform daily checks of agency vehicles ensuring its safety and sufficient fuel.
  18. Work in a cooperative, collegial style with all other organizational personnel. Conduct oneself in a professional manner as an agency employee and representative.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by the program management, and/or Chief Program Officer.
