National Grid Funding Supports Q Center LGBTQ+ Programs

Syracuse, N.Y.- National Grid donates $10,000 to support LGBTQ+ programs provided by the Q Centers in Syracuse, Utica and Watertown. The National Grid funding will help increase the crucial resources available to youth, young adults and their families.

The Q Center is a safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth, their families and allies, to gather, share, and receive support. Q Center programming promotes equality, celebrates diversity and provides resources to cultivate pride and leadership skills, to create a safe and inclusive community for all.

“We are grateful to National Grid for this generous donation,” said Lisa Alford, Executive Director of ACR Health. “The Q Center appreciates National Grid as a partner for supporting the work we do for LGBTQ+ youth in the communities we serve.”

“National Grid is thrilled and honored to support the Q Center and ACR Health for their outreach to the LGBTQ+ community,” said Alberto Bianchetti, National Grid Central New York Regional Director. “Especially important are the resources they provide to the most vulnerable population of young people by providing a safe space to get the love and support they need to lead a full life. At National Grid inclusion and diversity is important because we have an obligation to serve and support our entire community. This contribution to the Q Center is one way we do that.”

The National Grid donation coincides with PRIDE month in June.
