syringesESAP Vouchers for Sterile Syringes

With the goal of harm reduction, ACR Health offers an expanded syringe access program (ESAP) and distributes vouchers to at-risk or individuals who are in need of sterile syringes. These vouchers can be redeemed for a fit-pack which includes a 10-pack of sterile syringes. Through partnerships with various pharmacies in Syracuse, Utica, and Watertown, ESAP has a long history of preventing the transmission of blood-borne diseases.

Enhanced Street Outreach

ACR Health’s Enhanced Street Outreach teams meet people where they are at, both personally and physically. This team focuses on bringing the message of prevention to individuals who may not find their way to the office building or other common support structures. Bringing with them the experience, education and extension of program services, Enhanced Street Outreach is an essential tool in harm reduction. The SEP team provides syringe and litter clean-ups within the community, leaving school and park grounds, sidewalks and streets, safe and hazardous free for all.

Distribution of Sharps Containers

ESAP also distributes sharps containers, both via agency staff and individual pharmacies. The sharps containers offer leak-proof, plastic, rigid, puncture-resistant containers to allow for proper storage and disposal of used syringes. Please contact ACR Health’s Syringe Exchange Program if you have or encounter used syringes that need to be contained and properly disposed of.
